W2-4: PIAZZA MATTE & FONTANA DELLE TARTARUGHE (Fontaine aux Tortues)
La Piazza Mattei est nommée d'après l'une des résidences de la famille homonyme, que nous retrouverons également sur la Piazza Piscinulla (W9-5). Le portail au numéro 19 dissimule une magnifique cour médiévale.
La fontaine aux tortues a été inaugurée en 1588, mais les petites tortues n'ont été ajoutées qu'un siècle plus tard en remplacement de 4 dauphins.
