Dans 'Rond Berghse boerderijen en het boerenbestaan' (1990), il y a une photo montrant que le toit était déjà gravement endommagé à l'époque. Après plusieurs tempêtes violentes, la situation s'est encore détériorée, au grand mécontentement des passionnés. La commune d'Oude IJsselstreek souhaiterait également que les choses soient différentes, mais est impuissante.
