Le Laarder Wasmeer ou Gros Waschmeer est un petit lac entre Anna's Hoeve, la Zuiderheide et l'A27 au sud de Laren, à l'est de Hilversum. Le terrain autour du Wasmeer n'est pas librement accessible et est géré par la réserve naturelle de Goois. À l'époque romaine et au cours des dernières Moyen Âge, il y avait déjà un grand Gros Wasmeer. Le sol dans la région laissait à peine passer l'eau, ce qui a permis la formation de plusieurs petits étangs. Vers 1800, c'était une région vallonnée avec de petits étangs dans lesquels les moutons étaient lavés.
