Cuesmes è un comune nella provincia belga di Hainaut, ed è una frazione della città wallona di Mons. Cuesmes era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione municipale del 1971. Museo: Casa di Vincent van Gogh Rue du Pavillon 3 Van Gogh visse alcuni anni in Belgio, tra l'altro nella Borinage. Visse tra i minatori e predicava per loro. Dal 1878 visse consecutivamente a Pâturages, Wasmes e Cuesmes, dove rimase fino al 1880. Era ospite della casa di un minatore, che oggi è ancora visitabile. Un importante punto di svolta nella sua vita avvenne nella Borinage, quando iniziò a dipingere.
