Questo edificio della fine del XVII secolo è stato conservato così come alcune altre fortificazioni dell'epoca di Vauban.
Oltre alle nove torri difensive che fiancheggiavano gli angoli delle mura, il famoso architetto militare aveva progettato una porta d'ingresso e una nicchia in un luogo chiamato "La Poulie". Ciò ha fornito un passaggio per entrare in città per le persone che vivevano a valle .
Anche i cavalli della caserma di cavalleria potevano venire a La Semois ad abbeverarsi lungo questa strada. All'inizio del XX secolo, quando la Semois era ancora attraversata da barche , il piccolo edificio fatiscente era chiamato " Schifferhaus ". Viveva lì con la sua famiglia. Successivamente, negli anni '50, visse nella "Poulie" il custode del mattatoio comunale , ospitato nel "Bastion de Bourgogne". Ora l'edificio deve essere catalogato e ristrutturato.
