Houffalize è il centro della Boven-Ourthe. È una piccola città che si è insediata nella curva di un meandro dell'Ourthe. Anche qui l'offensiva delle Ardenne all'inizio del 1945 ha fatto il suo devastante lavoro. Testimone di ciò è un carro armato tedesco Panther, che dopo l'offensiva è stato riportato alla luce dal fiume ed ora si trova fermo in una piazza. Il carro, costruito nel 1942 per il fronte orientale, pesa 43 tonnellate, ha un'armatura di 110 mm, un cannone da 75 mm e due mitragliatrici da 7,92 mm. All'epoca, durante l'offensiva, il Panther superava tutti i carri armati americani e britannici.
