Inizialmente c'era un po' troppa gente, ma mentre si corre e si cammina lungo la Dijle è uno spettacolo particolare osservare la lunghissima fila di partecipanti davanti e dietro di te.
Si cammina verso il centro città nel modo più lento possibile (marciapiede e pista ciclabile sotto i vari ponti sulla Dijle), con naturalmente un delizioso passaggio attraverso il Kruikdtuin (il parco cittadino di Mechelen).
Non una, ma due volte si attraversa il mercato. Non ci sono concessioni per escludere monumenti storici.
