La valle di Itter è una valle abbastanza stretta che è stata scolpita dal fiume Itterbeek, che si fa strada attraverso l'Altopiano di Kempen. L'ampia incisione dell'Itterbeek e del Wijshagerbeek non solo crea notevoli differenze di altitudine, ma offre anche una grande varietà di paesaggi: corsi d'acqua tortuosi con paludi umide, prati con alberi ai margini, boschi di latifoglie di querce e betulle, ma anche foreste di conifere piantate.
