La Schelderoute, lunga 180 km, segue il fiume Schelda come un 'filo blu'. Il percorso inizia al confine tra le Fiandre Occidentali e l'Hainaut, a Spiere-Helkijn. Attraverso Oudenaarde segue il corso del Boven-Schelde fino a unire le rive dello Zee-Schelde a Gand, in direzione di Anversa. Lungo il percorso scopri le paludi ricche d'acqua e di natura del Scheldemeersen con i suoi antichi meandri dello Schelda, le Ardenne Fiamminghe, la regione della Leie, il Scheldeland e il Waasland.
