Tecklenburg è una bellissima città. Le strette strade acciottolate e le straordinarie case a graticcio medievali, incredibilmente ben conservate, compensano molte cose. Tecklenburg era famosa per il suo bucato, prodotto da industriosi lavoratori a domicilio. Una vecchia porta, Legge, ricorda l'ispezione Linne. La foresta intorno a Tecklenburg è qui e là quasi caoticamente "non tedesca" (gestione forestale vicino alla natura) con numerosi uccelli cavernicoli.
