Il castello di Neuschwanstein è un castello costruito alla fine del XIX secolo e situato nel sud-ovest della Baviera nei pressi di Füssen, nella località di Schwangau, di fronte al castello di Hohenschwangau.
Il nome tedesco Neuschwanstein può essere tradotto in italiano come Nuova pietra del Cigno, con possibile richiamo all'idea di Nuova roccaforte del Cigno; tale nome è collegato infatti alla sua costruzione nel territorio di Schwangau - Contea del Cigno - avvenuta successivamente rispetto ad altri castelli più antichi.
