Nel nord della chiesa provveditoriale c'è un edificio caratteristico direttamente sulla riva dell'Emswehr, il cosiddetto "Große Mühle" - l'attuale Christoph-Bernsmeyer-Haus. Una pietra araldica sulla facciata riporta di una ristrutturazione fondamentale del 1754, a cui partecipò il maestro barocco westfaliano Johann Conrad Schlaun.
Nel 1976/1977 l'ex mulino per cereali è stato preso in carico dall'Ordine delle Francescane Mauritzer. Fondatore di quest'ordine fu Padre Christoph Bernsmeyer (1777-1858), che visse per oltre 50 anni come sacerdote ausiliario a Telgte. A lungo il Christoph-Bernsmeyer-Haus servì come casa di riposo per le sorelle dell'ordine. Oggi vi abitano le sorelle dell'Ordine di Maria Stella Matutina.
Sul lato destro della riva dell'Emswehr c'era in passato un mulino per olio e un mulino da calzolaio, che fu demolito intorno al 1900.
