La cattedrale primaziale di Santa Maria , a Toledo, è la chiesa madre dell'arcidiocesi di Toledo. Edificata tra il 1226, durante il regno di Ferdinando III, e il 1493, epoca dei re cattolici, la cattedrale di Toledo è considerata il capolavoro dello stile gotico in Spagna.
Nel corso degli anni, una tradizione popolare non scritta ha raccontato che nel medesimo luogo dove sorge l'attuale cattedrale, esisteva un precedente tempio dai tempi di sant'Eugenio III, arcivescovo di Toledo dal 646 al 657.
