Il Castello di Verdú è uno degli edifici più emblematici della villa e fu attorno a esso che iniziarono a sorgere le strade e le piazze che ora formano il paese di Verdú nella provincia di Lleida.
Nel 1055 questi territori furono conquistati da Ramón Berenguer I, e nel 1072 passarono alla famiglia di Arnau Company. Per duecento anni furono nelle mani di Arnau. Fino a quando nel 1184 Berenguela di Cervera concesse agli abitanti di Verdú il privilegio di costruire il paese attorno al castello, che fino ad allora era stato situato attorno al fiume Cercavins, affluente del fiume Ondara.
