Foix è una comune nel dipartimento dell'Ariège nella regione dei Midi-Pirenei nel sud-ovest della Francia, con una popolazione di circa 9.000 abitanti. Fa parte dell'arrondissement di Foix. La stazione ferroviaria di Foix si trova nel comune.
Fino alla Rivoluzione francese, Foix era il centro della contea di Foix, poi una provincia francese indipendente, il Pays de Foix, che corrispondeva grosso modo al dipartimento dell'Ariège. Dal XIII secolo, i signori di Foix governarono anche il Béarn e si stabilirono lì.
