Alla confluenza di due valli, il Viroin e la Mosa, Vireux-Molhain ha sempre occupato un posto strategico per il controllo militare della regione. Già nel III secolo, i Romani installarono un accampamento militare sulle alture di Molhain, sul bordo di questo sperone roccioso che domina la valle. Di questa antica fortificazione, difesa su tutti e quattro i lati da uno spesso muro, sono ancora visibili le due torri angolari del recinto, un forno per il pane, un camino circolare e un cimitero.Sul Mont Vireux, seguite le tracce dei legionari che difesero la Gallia romana dalle prime invasioni germaniche nel III secolo. Scoprirete un mix perfetto di patrimonio e natura. Un altro punto di interesse è il belvedere che domina le valli della Mosa e del Viroin.
