Canazei è un comune italiano di 2 008 abitanti della provincia autonoma di Trento, situato all'estremità settentrionale della Val di Fassa, al confine con le province di Bolzano a nord e Belluno a est, incastonato fra importanti gruppi dolomitici .
Nota località per il turismo invernale e il turismo estivo , fa parte del carosello sciistico Sella Ronda, che collega le valli dolomitiche vicine e i comuni Selva di Val Gardena, Corvara in Badia, Livinallongo del Col di Lana.
