Alla città di Montagnana è stata conferita la Bandiera arancione per le sue bellezze storiche e per la valorizzazione dei prodotti tipici; inoltre essa fa parte dell'associazione I borghi più belli d'Italia. Nel 2018 è stata riconosciuta tra le località Spighe Verdi.
Il comune di Montagnana, situato nella parte sud-occidentale della provincia, dista circa 51 chilometri da Padova e confina con le province di Verona, nel tratto in cui scorre il fiume Fratta, e Vicenza. Montagnana è il quarto comune della provincia per estensione.
