Breugel è un villaggio nel comune di Son e Breugel. Breugel si trova sul lato est del Dommel. A sud di Breugel si trova il canale Wilhelmina e il torrente Breugelse scorre, sempre a sud di Breugel, nel Dommel. A nord di Breugel è stata costruita una nuova zona residenziale.
Breugel apparteneva fino al XIII secolo all'Allodium di Rode, che era sotto l'influenza della contea di Gheldria. A causa di un matrimonio con un conte, questo territorio passò nel 1229 al duca di Brabante. Da allora appartiene al distretto di Peelland.
