La Ecocathedral è un progetto di land art vicino al villaggio friziano di Mildam, nel comune olandese di Heerenveen. La Ecocathedral, situata poco a nord di Mildam, è progettata come un laboratorio dove vengono studiati i processi a lungo termine tra uomo e natura. Impilando in modo particolare piastrelle e altri materiali da costruzione in eccesso, la flora e la fauna possono seguire il loro corso naturale. La prima ecocathedral si trova su un appezzamento di terra in mezzo ai boschi di Mildam, comune di Heerenveen. Il progetto è iniziato negli anni '70 dal filosofo/'ecotect'/architetto paesaggista Louis le Roy. L'intenzione è che il progetto continui fino all'anno 3000. Questo tempo è infatti necessario per poter studiare i processi che continuano all'infinito. Per garantire la continuità, nel 2001 è stata fondata la Stichting Tijd, che ha anche come obiettivo avviare processi simili sia in patria che all'estero.
