Lo Smidse è proprietà della famiglia Bessems dal 1860 . Poi una fucina con una fattoria.
Già nel 1900, nonna Bessems accampava i turisti nelle loro tende sul prato di fronte a De Smidse. Questo in realtà ha gettato le basi per Herberg De Smidse. Oltre alla fucina, aprì un negozio dove dapprima si vendeva principalmente ferramenta, ma poi anche caffè, riso e altri generi di prima necessità. In realtà una specie di negozio Sinkel.
La sala da pranzo (l'attuale Locanda) è stata allestita nel luogo in cui all'epoca si trovava il negozio. Successivamente la casa divenne una foresteria per gli ospiti estivi. La vecchia fucina è scomparsa e il negozio è continuato qui. Il negozio è stato chiuso negli anni '70. Oggi c'è un appartamento della Fucina qui.
Qui c'è ancora l'atmosfera di un tempo e molte cose nell'Inn lo ricordano.
