Lonneker è un villaggio che appartiene al comune di Enschede e ha 1770 abitanti. Il villaggio si trova a nord di Enschede nella regione di Twente. Fino al 1934, Lonneker era un comune autonomo. Lonneker non ha un codice postale proprio. Nel registro dei codici postali, il villaggio è incluso sotto il nome di Enschede. Lonneker viene menzionato per la prima volta intorno al IX/X secolo in un elenco dei beni del monastero di Werden sul Reno. Tra i beni a Loningheri c'erano i vecchi eredi Effuk e Uuilger. Il quartiere di Lonneker formò in seguito una parte della parrocchia e del tribunale di Enschede come parte dell'ufficio del Drost di Twente. Intorno al 1820 fu costruita a Lonneker la prima chiesa cattolica romana, la Jacobus de Meerderekerk.
