Qui in passato sorgeva un castello. Il castello si chiamava inizialmente 'Huis Berch Eyck'. Durante la Guerra dei Trent’Anni divenne una delle molte fortificazioni attorno a Den Bosch. Il generale Maurits lo occupò all'epoca, ma lo perse di nuovo a favore degli spagnoli.
Il castello di Bergeijk è esistito a lungo come rovina. Nel XIX secolo i fossati furono riempiti. Da circa cento anni non c'era più niente visibile del castello. Fino a pochi anni fa, i contorni del castello sono stati nuovamente segnati.
