La costruzione della torre iniziò il 28 luglio 1574. Nel 1666 e nel 1683 la torre fu colpita da un incendio e da allora è rimasta senza tetto.
La torre ha un piano quadrato a forma di prisma solido con otto piani ed è alta 57 metri. La torre ha una galleria panoramica a 29 metri sopra il livello del suolo. Gli angoli e il piano più alto sono decorati con sgraffito a forma di diamante. Sul lato sud-ovest si trova un orologio solare. Nella nicchia sopra l'ingresso c'è un rilievo circolare, simbolo di Cristo.
