Door de rijkdom van een hippodroom en een ruitersportcentrum is Waregem bekend als de bakermat van de paardesport in ons land.
De Gaverbeekhippodroom is 17 ha groot en ligt op een steenworp van het stadscentrum.
Elk weekend, van begin mei tot september, worden hier drafrennen gehouden.
