Welkom in een van de parels van Brussel, de Koninklijke Sint-Hubertusgalerijen. De Nederlandse architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar bouwde in 1847 de allereerste overdekte winkelstraat van Europa. Dit staaltje van Italiaanse neorenaissance is ook een van de weinige plekken rond de Ilôt Sacré met een gezonde mix van wonen, werken en vertier: op het gelijkvloers zijn er naast chique winkels ook cafés, de kwaliteitscinema Galeries en een theater, terwijl er op de verdiepingen nog steeds mensen wonen. Dat staat in schril contrast met de andere straten rond de Grote Markt waar amper iemand woont en het toerisme primeert.
