Heuvelland mag dan een pareltje van natuurschoon zijn, de Rentakker doet daar zonder verpinken nog een schepje bovenop. Gastheer Stefaan, die zelf het fornuis bemant, gooit 30 jaar ervaring in de strijd en dat is goed te merken. Paling vind je vermoedelijk op elke kaart, maar hier krijgt hij toch een ereplaats. Het is natuurlijk moeilijk opboksen tegen de verleidelijke baklucht van gegrilde heerlijkheden als ribstuk of lamskoteletjes en de slaatjes lijken wel schilderijtjes, alles wordt met veel ouderwetse liefde bereid, maar wat je ook kiest, tevredenheid is je welverdiende deel.
