In 2004 opende hier ooit het diepste indoor zwembad ter wereld, maar liefst 33 meter diep. Intussen zijn er wereldwijd een aantal diepere baden bijgebouwd maar Nemo 33 blijft nog steeds een referentie in de wereld van het diepzeeduiken. Tegelijkertijd blijft Nemo 33 ook vernieuwend. Zo kan je er onder water dineren of een strip gaan lezen. Ook buiten is er een 24 m diep zwembad gebouwd. Door vergunningsbetwistingen kon dit gedeelte echter nog niet openen voor het publiek, je kan het bassin wel zien liggen van op de fiets.
