Het gebied de Vossekouter, met een oppervlakte van 53,76 hectare, strekt zich uit over de zuidoostelijke rand van Huldenberg (op de grens met Overijse) en bevindt zich op het Brabants leemplateau. Het gaat om een kouter met aan de rand van het plateau bossen. De Vossebeek ontspringt in het zuidoostelijk deel van dit gebied. Omwille van de aanwezigheid van hellingbossen en een centraal in het landschap gelegen holle weg (noordwest-zuidoost georiënteerd) met een specifieke begroeiing heeft dit gebied een hoge esthetische, botanische en geomorfologische waarde.
