Het Stadhuis van Veurne speelde een belangrijke rol in het begin van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Koning Albert I had er zijn werkkabinet in de bovenzaal. Hier werden de plannen voor de onderwaterzetting van de IJzervlakte met Karel Cogge besproken. Ook de Generale Staf van het Belgisch leger had hier een aantal maanden haar hoofdkwartier. In de Albertzaal van het Stadhuis zal je naar aanleiding van 100 jaar Groote Oorlog een docudrama kunnen bekijken over het verhaal van de Groote Oorlog in Veurne.
