Het is misschien moeilijk voor te stellen, maar ongeveer achttien eeuwen geleden was het Haspengouwse landschap bezaaid met witgekalkte villa’s en monumentale tumuli (villa is de Latijnse term voor een landbouwbedrijf, en tumulus betekent heuvel of grafheuvel). In Gingelom liggen zes Gallo-Romeinse tumuli op drie verschillende plaatsen: de Avernassentom, de Twee Tommen en de Drie Tommen. Deze sites zijn op een belevingsvolle manier ingericht en geven je een beeld van de Gallo-Romeinse tijd in Haspengouw.
