Het Stedelijk Museum Eisenhüttenstadt werd opgericht in 1980 en omvat vandaag de dag drie locaties die de stadsgeschiedenis van Eisenhüttenstadt, een kunstgalerie met werken uit de DDR en een brandweer- en techniekmuseum presenteren.
De opening van het Stedelijk Museum Eisenhüttenstadt vond plaats op 6 december 1980. Het museum is ondergebracht in een Jugendstil-gebouw met maritieme motieven aan de Löwenstraße 4 in de wijk Fürstenberg. Het twee verdiepingen tellende gepleisterde gebouw werd in 1906 als woonhuis gebouwd in opdracht van de directeur van de stoombootvereniging, Carl Reiche, en in 1977 gerenoveerd. Het staat onder monumentenzorg.
