Chauvigny is een gemeente in het Franse departement Vienne . De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Montmorillon. De voormalige gemeente Saint-Pierre-les-Églises maakt deel uit van Chauvigny. De gemeente telde 7.062 inwoners op 1 januari 2019.De burcht van Chauvigny ligt op een rotspunt van 350 meter lengte tussen de valleien van de Vienne en van de Talbat. Deze burcht bestaat uit vijf afzonderlijke kastelen die tussen de 11e en de 15e eeuw werden gebouwd door de heren van Chauvigny en de bisschoppen van Poitiers:
