In 2020 werd hier in Aberhosan een technisch mysterie opgelost. Ze hadden er al 1,5 jaar internetproblemen. Iedere ochtend om klokslag 7 uur viel de verbinding van alle dorpsbewoners weg. Tientallen ingenieurs zochten maandenlang naar de bron van het probleem. Het euvel bleek een oude televisie te zijn. De bewoners van het huis zetten elke ochtend om 7 uur hun tv op. En dat creëerde een "uitbarsting" van elektrische ruis die de internetverbinding van alle inwoners deed uitvallen. Een fenomeen dat gekend staat als SHINE: Single High-level Impulse Noise.
