Het Dolomieten-gebergte is gekend om zijn verticale pieken van soms bijna wit dolomietgesteente. Eén van de routes die je meeneemt door het Italiaanse gedeelte van dit gebergte is de Grande Strada. De route voert door drie Italiaanse provincies (Südtirol, Trentino en Belluno) en er worden drie talen gesproken (Italiaans, Duits en Ladinisch).
