Dieren is een Nederlandse plaats in de gemeente Rheden (provincie Gelderland). Dieren ligt ingeklemd tussen de heuvelachtige bossen van de Veluwezoom en de rivier de IJssel. Het dorp wordt doorsneden door de spoorlijn Arnhem-Zutphen en de drukke provinciale weg N348. Ook komt het zuidelijke stuk van het Apeldoorns kanaal er op de IJssel uit. Het heeft 14.842 inwoners (1 januari 2008).
