Heuvels: Dankzij de voorlaatste ijstijd, 200.000 tot 130.000 jaar geleden, kent Twente een heuvelachtig landschap met mooie uitzichtpunten. Op veel van die punten werden uitkijktorens gebouwd, zodat je van grote hoogte ver kon kijken.
Uitzicht: De uitzichttoren op de Paasberg heette 'Belvedère', ofwel: mooi uitzicht. De resten van de toren zijn nog zichtbaar. Zoek maar eens naar 4 bemoste poeren, de voeten van de toren. Daarnaast staat een bankje; bij helder weer kun je Nordhorn en de verre omgeving zien.
