El pont va ser construït l'any 1902. Feia 54,2 metres de llarg amb 3 vans . Ella va ser volat el 1940 per frenar l'avanç de l'exèrcit alemany.
La ruïna va rebre el sobrenom de "pont cassé".
La 'passerelle du Breux', reconstruïda l'any 2003 sobre les ruïnes de l'antic pont del tramvia que va ser bombardejat al final de la Segona Guerra Mundial, connecta les dues entrades inferiors al poble del costat de Semois.

L'estructura, com en el passat, és d'acer, però la forma, l'alçada i el sistema de suport s'han adaptat a les tecnologies i requisits actuals.
