Sant Just Desvern és un municipi situat als vessants sud-occidentals de la serra de Collserola. El seu terme municipal té una extensió de 7,81 quilòmetres quadrats. Quan la Generalitat de Catalunya feu la divisió comarcal de 1936, el va integrar dins del Barcelonès, juntament amb la veïna població d'Esplugues de Llobregat. Atenent a la tradicional vocació d'ambdues poblacions, el Parlament de Catalunya les va incloure en la comarca del Baix Llobregat el 12 de desembre de 1989.
