Berga és una ciutat de la Catalunya central, capital de la comarca del Berguedà i antiga capital del Comtat de Berga. La ciutat és al bell mig del Berguedà, al peu de la Serra de Queralt i de cara a la vall del Llobregat. El municipi té una extensió de 22,54 km² i inclou l'antiga colònia tèxtil de Cal Rosal i la Valldan. Al nord i al nord-est limita amb Cercs; al sud-est, amb Olvan; al sud, amb Avià; al sud-oest, amb Capolat; i al nord-oest, amb Castellar del Riu.
