El Montseny és un massís muntanyós que forma part de la Serralada Prelitoral. Aquest massís ha gaudit d'una gran estima popular, des de fa més d'un segle, per raó de les seves riqueses paisatgístiques, naturals i històriques. Està situat en el límit entre les comarques del Vallès Oriental, la Selva i Osona, com una barrera entre la Depressió Prelitoral Catalana i la Plana de Vic. Està separat de les Guilleries per una fractura.
