El Xúquer és un riu de la conca mediterrània de la península Ibèrica. Naix als monts Universals a 1.506 m d'altitud, a la província de Conca , i desemboca a la mar Mediterrània a la població de Cullera . Amb una longitud d'uns 500 km i una conca de 23.000 km², és el riu més gran dels que passen pel País Valencià. Era conegut amb el nom de Sucro pels romans.
