L'església parroquial de la parròquia, anomenada Sant Cristòfol, va ser construïda per substituir l'antiga església del monestir benedictí fundat pel bisbe Hermogi, possiblement al segle IX.
L´església presenta una arquitectura senzilla però harmoniosa amb influències barroques. Al pati davanter s'alça un crucifix de granit, el Cruzeiro Parroquial , que, juntament amb l'església, constitueix un important monument religiós de la regió.
