Schöntal er en kommune i Hohenlohekreis i det franskeprægede nordøstlige Baden-Württemberg. Den tilhører regionen Heilbronn-Franken.
Schöntal, kommunen med det største areal i Hohenlohekreis, ligger i luftlinje ca. 15 km vest-nordvest for kretsbyen Künzelsau og ca. 30 km nordøst for regionscentret Heilbronn. De større landsbyer ligger langs den nederste dal af Jagst, som løber vest-sydvest gennem kommunen, eller ligger i de sideløb, der fører til floden, den venstre Sindelbach, så den højre Erlenbach og - først i en nabokommune nedenfor - den også højre Kessach. På højderne mellem disse og nogle nabovand findes der kun små bopladser.
