Schwaan er en by i Landkreis Rostock i Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Den er sæde for Schwaan kommune, som omfatter yderligere seks kommuner, og udgør et grundlæggende center for sin omegn.
Schwaan ligger ved den nedre Warnow og Beke mellem Rostock og Güstrow. Bakkene øst og vest for Warnow når næppe 50 m over havets overflade, og området bliver fladere mod nord mod Østersøen.
