Auringen ligger ved den nordøstlige bygrænse af Wiesbaden. Den ovale bymidte rejser sig, omgivet af markfelter, på bakken, der ligger mellem Aubach og Wickerbach, og ved hvis fødder de to vandløb forenes.
Den nyere del af Auringen, bebyggelsen Am Rotenberg, strækker sig øst for Aubach lang og smal i nord-syd-retning langs statsvejen L 3028 fra nordporten af Schulwaldtunnelen på jernbanens højhastighedsforbindelse Köln–Rhein/Main til stationen Auringen-Medenbach på Ländchesbahn. Mellem bymidten og nybyggeriet ligger der i Aubachtal, på en strækning af 200 m, kun et enkelt lille hus.
