Borgau ligger på den nordøstlige skråning af Finne i et bakket område vest for motorvejene 87 og 250 samt syd for motorvejen 176.
Weiler blev første gang nævnt skriftligt den 26. december 1209. Borgau menes dog at have eksisteret tidligere, men ikke dokumenteret, som en slavisk landsby. Den nuværende kirke har eksisteret siden 1818. I Weiler boede der i alt 47 personer i 2012.
