Det var huset til Rodrigo de Bastidas, som var grundlægger af flere byer i Sydamerika. Bygningen på 3.000 kvadratmeter er bygget omkring en rektangulær central gård. Huset har lange gange, der forbinder gården gennem en række romerske buer.
I mere end et århundrede blev huset beboet af efterkommere af Rodrigo Bastidas, og blev senere brugt af forskellige statslige institutioner, så det nu huser Det Dominikanske Børnemuseum.
