Badajoz er en spansk kommune og by, hovedstad i den homonyme provins, i den autonome region Extremadura. Med en befolkning på 150.984 indbyggere er det den mest befolkede kommune i Extremadura og det største økonomiske og kommercielle centrum i den ekstreme autonome enhed. Floden Guadiana krydser byen fra øst til vest for derefter at dreje mod syd, hvor den danner grænse til Portugal. Omkring 84,77 % af indbyggerne bor i byområdet; resten er beliggende i forskellige landsbyer og tilknyttede kerneområder.
