Harlech er et badeferieområde og en kommune i det nordwaliske amt Gwynedd og tidligere i det historiske amt Merionethshire. Det ligger ved Tremadog-bugten i Snowdonia National Park. Før 1966 tilhørte det Meirionydd-distriktet i 1974-amtet Gwynedd. Dets vartegn, Harlech Slot, blev påbegyndt i 1283 af Edward I af England, erobret af Owain Glyndŵr, og i 1480'erne en fæstning for Henry Tudor. Engang på en klippekant ved havet, ligger det nu en halv mile inde i landet. Ny boligbyggeri er dukket op i den lave by og i den høje by omkring shoppinggaden, kirken og slottet. De to er forbundet af en stejl vej kaldet "Twtil". Af dens 1.447 indbyggere taler 51 procent regelmæssigt walisisk. Den bebyggede område med Llanfair havde en befolkning på 1.762 i 2001-folketællingen, hvoraf over halvdelen manglede walisisk identitet, og det valgmæssige område, der inkluderer Talsarnau, havde 1.997 i 2011-folketællingen. Estimatet i 2019 var 1.881.
